Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa Opens in Dominican Republic
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, a new all-inclusive beachfront property along the untouched northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. The resort, part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection, is designed as a multigenerational escape, combining natural beauty with comfort and connection. Located in the emerging Miches region, the debut expands Hyatt’s family-friendly Dreams Resorts & Spas portfolio and complements the nearby Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa.
The resort offers 500 rooms and suites, many with garden, pool, or oceanfront views, and select units with swim-out access. Guests can upgrade to the Preferred Club for butler service, exclusive pools, and premium amenities, while the Preferred Club Presidential Suite features a private kitchen, jet pool terrace, and sweeping sea views. Dining is central to the experience, with ten restaurants and seven bars curated by Executive Chef Carlos Quijano, including Dominican, Mexican, and South American specialties. Guests also enjoy access to the Public Square, a shared hub with restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues connecting both Dreams and Secrets Playa Esmeralda properties.
Family-friendly offerings include the Explorer’s Club for children, the Core Zone Teens Club, a waterpark with slides and splash zones, and a variety of pools, alongside a dedicated family pool. Wellness facilities include a modern fitness center and the Secrets Spa, which features a hydrotherapy circuit, massage cabins, a bridal suite, and beauty services. The resort also integrates sustainability initiatives under Hyatt’s World of Care platform, including a protected sea turtle nesting area in partnership with Promiches.
Positioned as both a leisure and event destination, Dreams Playa Esmeralda provides over 15,000 square feet of event space including seaside ceremony venues and the Miches Ballroom. With direct access to Playa Esmeralda’s beach and proximity to natural attractions like Montaña Redonda, Los Haitises National Park, and Samaná Bay, the property offers a balance of relaxation and exploration. The opening highlights Hyatt’s commitment to responsible tourism while strengthening its portfolio in one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing regions.
