Dusit International ramps up expansion in India with focus on tier 2 and 3 cities
Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has announced an ambitious expansion strategy for India, targeting Tier 2 and 3 cities with its luxury and upper midscale brands. The plan builds on the success of Dusit’s recent ventures in the country, as it aims to meet growing demand for premium hospitality beyond the country's major metros. With six new hotels planned and a focus on sustainability and education, Dusit is positioning itself as a long-term player in India’s hospitality evolution.

As India’s tourism and travel market continues to grow, Dusit International is seizing the opportunity by expanding its footprint across the subcontinent. With rising disposable incomes, improved connectivity, and increasing demand for quality accommodations in non-metropolitan areas, Dusit plans to launch a wave of properties that will bring its signature Thai-inspired hospitality to previously underserved regions.
Following the successful debut of dusitD2 Fagu in Shimla in December 2024 and the signing of three more properties in Karnataka—including the wellness-focused Devarana Sakleshpur – A Dusit Retreat and two Dusit Princess Hotels—Dusit is now preparing for a broader rollout. The company has announced six new properties across India under its Dusit Princess and Dusit Collection brands.
Dusit Princess, the company’s upper-midscale brand, will enter Raipur (200 rooms), Bhiwadi (165 rooms), Kolkata (220 rooms), and Lonavala (120 rooms). These new hotels will offer modern accommodations tailored for both leisure and business travelers, with a focus on convenience, comfort, and value-driven service.
In parallel, the boutique luxury Dusit Collection brand will introduce two exclusive properties in the Himalayan towns of Kasol and Manali, each featuring 40 rooms. These properties are designed to provide refined, immersive experiences for guests seeking nature, tranquility, and luxury in equal measure.
Dusit’s expansion strategy emphasizes not just geographic growth but also a commitment to creating a sustainable and integrated hospitality ecosystem. At the center of this vision is the Tree of Life program, which aligns with select UN Sustainable Development Goals and focuses on community impact through 31 measurable criteria. This underscores the brand’s dedication to responsible tourism and local engagement.
In addition to hotel development, Dusit is investing in talent development through Dusit Hospitality Education, an initiative aimed at training Indian hospitality professionals to meet world-class standards. This reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering high-quality service while empowering local communities and enhancing job opportunities.
Looking ahead, Dusit plans to deepen its presence in India's major metro areas while continuing its push into high-potential Tier 2 and 3 cities. The move forms part of a wider global strategy to sign over 100 hotels in the next five years, with key growth markets including Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, China, and India. With a blend of wellness-focused design, sustainable practices, and culturally rooted experiences, Dusit aims to redefine premium hospitality across India.
