Fairmont Mumbai opens, blending Art Deco elegance with contemporary Indian luxury
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has officially opened its second property in India—Fairmont Mumbai—bringing its legacy of luxury hospitality to the country's bustling financial capital. Nestled near the airport, the hotel combines sophisticated Art Deco design with cutting-edge wellness, expansive event facilities, and immersive culinary experiences. Developed in partnership with Shrem Airport Hotels, Fairmont Mumbai sets a new standard for modern luxury in one of Asia’s most dynamic urban destinations.
Fairmont Mumbai, the latest addition to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ global portfolio and the brand’s second location in India, welcomed guests in April 2025. The hotel marks a strategic expansion for Fairmont and Accor in South Asia, offering an elevated stay in Mumbai’s vibrant hospitality scene. With 446 rooms and suites, a full wellness floor, and 75,000 square feet of event space, the property aims to become a new landmark of luxury and service in the region.
The design draws inspiration from New York’s golden age of Art Deco, blending vintage grandeur with contemporary sophistication. This aesthetic extends across the rooms, event venues, and public spaces, offering a seamless mix of heritage and modern comfort. The hotel introduces five distinct dining venues, including the Indo-French pâtisserie and tea lounge Madeleine de Proust, the Mediterranean-inspired Samaa, and The Merchants, a bustling food hall concept inspired by Mumbai’s dabbawalas. Each outlet delivers a unique interpretation of global and local flavors.
Event facilities are a core strength of the property. The Infinity Ballroom, spanning 21,000 square feet, features two live theatre kitchens, while the rooftop Vantage venue offers panoramic views for exclusive gatherings. The Grand Terminus business center, along with the Eon Ballroom and intimate meeting spaces, caters to corporate and social functions alike.
Fairmont Mumbai also pioneers a new dimension of wellness with India’s first luxury hotel-based Longevity experience. The Fairmont Spa & Longevity center offers cutting-edge treatments such as cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, red light therapy, and intermittent vacuum therapy. Complemented by a Technogym-equipped fitness studio and infrared sauna with halotherapy, the wellness offerings aim to rejuvenate guests holistically.
