Garner by IHG Accelerates Growth in India with Signing of Kutch Hotel
IHG Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in India’s fast-emerging markets with the signing of Garner Kutch, the third Garner® hotel in the country since the brand’s IMEA launch earlier this year. Set to open in Q1 2026, this latest signing highlights the rising demand for midscale, conversion-friendly hotels in secondary and tertiary cities across India.
The new Garner Kutch will be located in Gujarat’s largest district, a growing industrial and tourism hub that has seen increasing business and leisure travel. Developed in partnership with Royal Buildspace LLP and operated by Rosastays (Rosaoul Hotelco Pvt Ltd) — one of IHG’s preferred third-party operators for the brand — the property will feature 40 well-appointed rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, fitness center, spa, swimming pool, and event spaces. It aims to serve a diverse guest base of professionals, business travellers, and tourists visiting Kutch for events like the Rann Utsav or commercial ventures linked to the DP World Special Economic Zone, located just 6 km from the site.
Designed to meet the needs of value-conscious travellers, the Garner brand focuses on comfort, reliability, and locally inspired hospitality. As a midscale conversion brand, Garner allows for asset-light investments and quicker turnaround for hotel owners. This positions it ideally within India’s evolving hospitality landscape, especially in regions where branded accommodations remain underrepresented.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the strategic relevance of this addition: “The rapid uptake of Garner in India—with three signings in quick succession—demonstrates strong owner confidence in our midscale conversion proposition.” The other two upcoming Garner properties, Garner Etawah and Garner Kathua, are also being managed by Rosastays, reinforcing a long-term collaboration between IHG and the operator.
Deepika Arora, Director at Rosastays, noted that Garner Kutch aligns with the expectations of modern travellers seeking dependable yet locally immersive stays, while Deepak Chandnani, Partner at Royal Buildspace LLP, highlighted the brand’s owner-centric model as a key factor in the partnership.
This signing adds further momentum to IHG’s India pipeline, which includes 50 hotels in operation across six brands and 63 more under development. With strong consumer demand and government-backed development in emerging regions like Kutch, Garner Kutch is poised to make a significant contribution to India’s midscale hospitality sector.
