Hyatt Centric Reims brings lifestyle hospitality to the heart Of France’s Champagne capital
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially opened Hyatt Centric Reims, marking the debut of the Hyatt Centric lifestyle brand in France. Located in the historic center of Reims, the hotel is positioned as a launchpad for guests eager to explore the surrounding Champagne region. Overlooking the Aisne-Marne Canal and within walking distance of major cultural sites, the property connects travelers directly to the city’s heritage, gastronomy and sparkling wine culture. The opening also supports Hyatt’s wider ambition to grow the Hyatt Centric portfolio globally, with plans to expand the brand by 50% and reach more than 100 hotels by the end of 2029.
From its central location, Hyatt Centric Reims places guests within a 15-minute walk of key attractions such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Palais du Tau, and several world-renowned Champagne Houses, making it an ideal base for visitors who want to immerse themselves in the history and flavor of the region. The canal-front setting offers open views while still anchoring the hotel firmly in the urban fabric of Reims, balancing ease of access with a strong sense of place. According to Hyatt, the opening forms part of a deliberate growth strategy in Europe, with the property designed to reflect the character of its surroundings and appeal to modern travelers seeking locally rooted experiences. The hotel’s leadership emphasises that the concept focuses on connecting guests to the city through design, gastronomy and intuitive service rather than remaining a purely functional stopover.
The hotel features 155 guestrooms and suites, all conceived to blend comfort with a contemporary, lifestyle-oriented aesthetic. Natural tones and materials inspired by the surrounding vineyards create a calm, residential feel, while modular layouts allow the spaces to adapt to business or leisure needs. Each room is equipped with a rain shower and flat-screen TV, giving guests a straightforward yet premium setting to unwind after a day of tastings, meetings or sightseeing. The overall design approach seeks to echo the landscape of the Champagne region inside the property, reinforcing the connection between the interiors and the territory outside.
Culinary experiences are a key pillar of Hyatt Centric Reims. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Le Néo, focuses on French classics reinterpreted through charcoal grilling, a concept that blends familiarity with a more contemporary style of cooking. The adjacent Bar by Le Néo places mixology and wine at center stage, offering inventive cocktails and an extensive Champagne list that highlights both niche producers and prestigious labels, encouraging guests to discover the full range of the region’s sparkling wines. A boutique store, designed to evoke the chalk caves typical of the area, allows visitors to purchase curated Champagne references and local products, extending the tasting experience beyond the bar and restaurant.
For business events and social gatherings, Hyatt Centric Reims offers eight flexible meeting rooms equipped with modern technology. These spaces, all benefiting from natural light and contemporary décor, are configured to foster collaboration, making them suitable for conferences, seminars and receptions of varying scales. A dedicated events team supports planners from initial concept through execution, tailoring each event to specific requirements and ensuring a smooth flow throughout. This mix of meeting facilities and leisure-focused amenities positions the hotel to serve both corporate demand and weekend or short-break travel.
General Manager Nicolas Benfodda underlines that the hotel aims to deliver a personalized premium experience across all types of stays, whether guests arrive for a business trip, a cultural getaway or a wine-focused itinerary. By combining a city-center address, regionally inspired design, and a food-and-beverage offering rooted in local flavors, Hyatt Centric Reims is designed as a starting point for exploring Reims rather than a destination separate from it. With this opening, Hyatt strengthens both its European presence and its lifestyle portfolio, while giving travelers a new way to experience France’s iconic Champagne heartland.
