Hyatt Place Bhuj to bring modern select-service hospitality To Gujarat’s Kutch Gateway
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans for Hyatt Place Bhuj, expanding the brand’s footprint in Gujarat and marking its debut in the historic city of Bhuj. Developed by Primitive Property LLP, the 125-room hotel is expected to open in 2029 on an approximately 7,500 square meter site. Positioned in a destination known both for its architectural heritage and its growing role as a commercial center, the new property aims to serve business and leisure travelers alike. The signing underscores Hyatt’s broader strategy to grow the Hyatt Place portfolio across high potential Indian markets.
Planned as a contemporary, midscale hotel aligned with the brand’s intuitive and guest-centric positioning, Hyatt Place Bhuj will be designed for multitasking travelers seeking a seamless balance between work and rest. The hotel is expected to feature 125 thoughtfully planned guestrooms that blend style, innovation and comfort, with spaces structured to accommodate both short stays and extended corporate visits. Public areas will include an all-day restaurant with freshly prepared dishes, a lobby lounge designed for informal meetings and socializing, and outdoor dining options that cater to guests looking to relax after business hours or sightseeing.
Reflecting the typical Hyatt Place service model, the property will offer practical amenities such as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour food offerings, allowing guests to transition easily between work and downtime. A suite of flexible event facilities, including conference rooms, breakout meeting spaces and pre-function areas, is expected to position the hotel as a convenient venue for meetings, small conferences and corporate gatherings in Bhuj. This focus on functionality aligns with the brand’s emphasis on purposeful spaces that support productivity without compromising comfort.
The project highlights Hyatt’s view of Bhuj as the principal gateway to the Kutch district, a region increasingly recognized for its cultural richness and rising corporate activity. As the city gains prominence as both a tourism destination and a business hub, the arrival of Hyatt Place Bhuj is intended to provide an international-standard hospitality option that appeals to domestic and international guests. According to Dhruva Rathore, Vice President, Development for India and Southwest Asia, the hotel concept is being shaped around spacious accommodations and flexible social zones that reflect the needs of today’s travelers.
For Primitive Property LLP, represented by partners Ankit Anupgiri Goswami and Kruti Ankit Goswami, the collaboration with Hyatt is framed as an opportunity to introduce a globally trusted hospitality brand to a market undergoing rapid transformation. Their vision is to establish a modern, internationally benchmarked hotel that elevates the guest experience in Bhuj, positioning the property as a preferred choice for business visitors, corporate groups and tourists exploring the cultural and natural attractions of the wider Kutch region. As part of Hyatt’s ongoing expansion of the Hyatt Place portfolio in India, the signing reinforces the company’s commitment to high growth destinations where demand for organized, branded accommodation is increasing.
