Hyde Hotels enters Latin America with Mexico City debut
Hyde Hotels has made its Latin American debut with the opening of Hyde Mexico City Reforma on September 1, 2026. Located on Paseo de la Reforma, the 106-room lifestyle hotel overlooks the Ángel de la Independencia and places guests close to some of the Mexican capital's leading cultural, dining and nightlife districts. The property combines adaptive reuse, contemporary Mexican art, music-inspired design and new food and beverage concepts. Its arrival also marks the first Hyde hotel in Mexico.
Hyde Mexico City Reforma occupies two towers dating from the era of Mexican modernism. The redevelopment has retained the original facade and infrastructure while transforming the buildings into a contemporary urban hotel with a stronger connection to local culture and the surrounding neighbourhood.
The property shares its lobby, dining venues and selected public spaces with the forthcoming SO/ Mexico City Reforma. Despite this physical connection, the two hotels will maintain different identities, with Hyde centred on music, social interaction and discovery, while SO/ will focus more closely on art and fashion.
Art plays a central role throughout Hyde Mexico City Reforma. The main atrium is clad in dark green marble and features Vulcano, a large sculpture by Mexican architect Javier Senosiain composed of thousands of hand-placed multicoloured ceramic fragments.
Additional artworks include cactus-inspired sculptures from J. Nicole Taboada, referencing the landscapes of the Mexican valley, as well as a tapestry by Vangi Uriegas created using artisanal textiles and traditional craftsmanship. Guestrooms incorporate woven pieces by 86 Nudos, the studio of Karla Pellegrino.
The hotel offers 106 guestrooms, studios and suites designed as private retreats above Paseo de la Reforma. Accommodations combine contemporary furnishings with warm textures and selected rooms provide direct views of Reforma and the Ángel de la Independencia.
Room amenities include Bumble and bumble. bath products, Lavazza coffee machines and minibars styled around the idea of a musician's backstage rider. The wider design language also incorporates references to music and festival culture.
Room category names continue that theme, ranging from General Admission Queens to All Access Kings. At the top of the accommodation offering is the Rockstar King Suite, measuring 47 square metres and featuring a king-size bed, separate living areas and expansive views across Mexico City.
Flexible event spaces are available for meetings, media events, corporate gatherings and social celebrations. A complimentary 24-hour TechnoGym fitness suite is also scheduled to become available shortly.
Food and beverage is intended to establish Hyde as a social destination as much as a place to stay. Enzu Restaurant & Bar, scheduled to begin operating in September, will focus on contemporary Japanese cuisine.
Its menu will combine seafood from Ensenada, selected Japanese ingredients and Mexican-grown produce. Dishes will include sushi, shared plates and specialities prepared on a binchotan charcoal robata grill.
The restaurant will also feature a 14-seat omakase counter offering reservation-only tasting experiences. Its bar programme will include premium sake, mezcal, tequila and whisky alongside signature cocktails.
A second concept, Sun & Moon, is planned for fall 2026 on the hotel's fourth floor. Designed as a neighbourhood-focused social space, it will serve coffee, pastries, light dishes and all-day favourites before transitioning into an evening cocktail lounge.
A flexible terrace linking Hyde and SO/ is expected to support dinner series, guest bartender collaborations and cultural programming shaped by local influences.
The hotel's location places it within one of Mexico City's most varied urban environments. The surrounding area combines galleries, boutiques, cafés and restaurants with the nightlife of Zona Rosa, its established LGBTQ+ heritage and the Korean cultural influence of Pequeño Seúl.
With Hyde Mexico City Reforma, Ennismore is bringing the Hyde brand's music-led, social and lifestyle positioning into Latin America for the first time. The 106-room hotel combines adaptive reuse, contemporary Mexican creativity and destination-led dining within one of the capital's most prominent urban corridors.
