IHG Expands Luxury & Lifestyle Presence in Egypt with Hotel Indigo New Cairo
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Jadeer Group to bring a Hotel Indigo property to New Cairo, strengthening its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Northern Africa. Scheduled to open in 2031, the 120-room hotel will be part of Red (G), a mixed-use development combining residences, retail, and hospitality.
Situated on North 90 Street, one of New Cairo’s most prominent districts, the hotel will be within close reach of the New Administrative Capital and the American University in Cairo, positioning it near key business, education, and leisure hubs. True to the Hotel Indigo ethos, the property will reflect the character of its neighbourhood, blending Cairo’s rich heritage with modern influences to deliver an authentic lifestyle experience.
This signing highlights IHG’s focus on expanding in Egypt, a market identified as a strategic growth area. The company currently operates eight hotels across four brands in the country, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites, with 22 more hotels in the pipeline. The partnership with Jadeer Group, a major player in Egypt’s real estate sector, marks a milestone in the Red (G) project and underscores IHG’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s National Tourism Strategy.
