IHG signs Holiday Inn Resort Alwar in Rajasthan
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Yash Hotels & Resorts LLP for the development of Holiday Inn Resort Alwar in India. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030, the 150-key resort will mark IHG’s entry into Alwar, often called the Gateway to Rajasthan. The project will strengthen the company’s resort offering in India and support its growth strategy across high-potential leisure and emerging destinations. The hotel is being positioned for weddings, MICE, leisure stays and corporate gatherings.
The signing of Holiday Inn Resort Alwar adds another resort project to IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Indian pipeline and brings the Holiday Inn Resort brand to a destination with growing tourism and event demand. Alwar is set against the backdrop of the Aravalli hills, where rugged terrain, greenery and open landscapes create a strong leisure setting. Its position near Delhi NCR, Jaipur and the Sariska Tiger Reserve gives the future resort access to several important source markets and visitor flows.
The 150-key hotel is planned as a resort-style property designed to serve multiple guest segments. Its facilities will include multiple dining options, resort amenities and dedicated meeting and event spaces. This mix is intended to make the hotel suitable for leisure travellers, wedding groups, business groups and guests attending social celebrations.
The project reflects the continued relevance of the Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts brand in markets where travellers seek dependable service and accessible hospitality. The brand’s service philosophy focuses on warm, reliable stays and meaningful guest experiences. In Alwar, this positioning is expected to meet the needs of travellers combining regional leisure, destination events and business-related visits.
The announcement names Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, as a key executive behind the signing. His comments link the project to IHG’s confidence in emerging markets such as Alwar and to the long-term potential of the destination. The partnership with Yash Hotels & Resorts LLP supports IHG’s wider plan to grow in India’s leisure and resort sector.
On the ownership side, Mr. Mukesh Gulati, Managing Partner of Yash Hotels & Resorts LLP, is also named in the announcement. His remarks point to Alwar’s proximity to major markets such as Delhi NCR and Jaipur, along with its natural beauty and cultural heritage, as factors that make the city suitable for hospitality development. The resort is expected to become a preferred option for weddings, events and leisure stays.
The signing also sits within IHG’s broader growth story in India. The company currently has 51 hotels operating across six brands in the country, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. It also has a strong pipeline of 89 hotels due to open over the next three to five years.
With Holiday Inn Resort Alwar, IHG Hotels & Resorts is reinforcing its focus on India’s emerging leisure destinations and expanding its ability to serve domestic travel, destination weddings, corporate retreats and regional tourism. The project brings together the strength of a global hotel brand, a scenic Rajasthan location and growing demand for resort hospitality in India.
