IHG signs Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach to expand its Thailand lifestyle portfolio
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach in partnership with AssetWise Public Company Limited and its subsidiary Rhom Bho Property Public Company Limited, adding a new Luxury & Lifestyle project in southern Thailand. The new 170-key hotel is scheduled to open in 2030 and will strengthen IHG’s growing Hotel Indigo footprint in the region. The signing also expands IHG’s relationship with AssetWise to a second Phuket project, alongside voco Phuket Bangtao, which is also in development. For IHG, the deal reinforces a wider push to grow in high-demand leisure destinations across South East Asia and Korea.
The project is strategically positioned in Nai Yang Beach, one of Phuket’s most appealing areas for travelers seeking a blend of nature, local character, and convenient access. According to the announcement, Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach will be about a 5-minute drive from Phuket International Airport and around 45 minutes from Phuket Old Town, while also being within walking distance of Nai Yang Beach and Sirinat National Park. Planned facilities include a restaurant and bar, a spa, and a gymnasium, aligning the property with demand for both wellness travel and lifestyle-led stays. The location and brand fit are particularly relevant in Phuket, where IHG noted strong recent tourism momentum supported by rising direct international flight connectivity and sustained interest in the island’s culture, cuisine, and nature experiences.
From a portfolio standpoint, the signing adds to IHG’s growing scale in both Phuket and Thailand. IHG stated that its Phuket portfolio now includes seven open hotels and five pipeline properties across brands such as InterContinental, Vignette Collection, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express, with voco also set to debut. At country level, the company said the new hotel will join 37 other properties in IHG’s Thailand pipeline, supporting a plan to grow its presence to more than 80 hotels in the next three to five years. The company also highlighted that the Hotel Indigo brand now has more than 190 open hotels globally and over 130 properties in the pipeline, underlining the brand’s continued momentum with owners and travelers.
