IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza Katowice, strengthening its presence in Poland’s premium hospitality sector. Opening in 2026, the 178-room hotel will become the country’s second Crowne Plaza and will further support IHG’s growth across Europe, where the brand already operates 90 hotels with 17 more in development. In a strategic move to grow its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a new property in Poland: Crowne Plaza Katowice, expected to open in 2026. This signing marks the brand’s second hotel in the country, following the successful operation of Crowne Plaza Warsaw – The HUB. It also complements IHG’s expanding portfolio of 14 operating hotels and 17 in the pipeline in Poland across five major brands.

The upcoming property is a joint venture with DL Invest as landlord and Hotel & More as the franchisee and operator. This partnership aims to deliver a sophisticated offering that meets the evolving needs of today’s blended travelers — those combining business and leisure on the same trip — a concept at the core of the Crowne Plaza identity.

Crowne Plaza Katowice will be strategically located on Katowice Central Highway, a key transit route in southern Poland, directly adjacent to Silesia City Center, the region’s largest shopping destination. The hotel will also offer easy access to the Katowice International Congress Centre, Spodek Arena, and multiple public transport options, ensuring strong appeal for both domestic and international business travelers.

Set across six floors, the hotel will offer 178 rooms, a restaurant, lobby café, and state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities. The design will reflect IHG’s recent reimagination of the Crowne Plaza brand, which emphasizes fluid transitions between work, relaxation, and socialization. The hotel’s layout and amenities will provide guests with multifunctional spaces for productivity, networking, and rest.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development, Europe at IHG, noted that the brand’s consistent commercial performance and rising guest satisfaction are driving increased owner interest across the continent. She described the Katowice project as a “purpose-driven” development that will showcase Crowne Plaza’s renewed focus on modern business travel with lifestyle elements.

Dominik Leszczyński, CEO of DL Invest, and Balazs Klemm, CEO of Hotel & More, both expressed strong confidence in the project’s success, citing the city’s dynamic business environment, the prime location, and the strength of the Crowne Plaza brand among corporate and leisure travelers alike.

With this signing, IHG Hotels & Resorts further anchors its position in Poland’s premium segment, offering guests greater access to trusted international hospitality in key Polish cities.
