IHG to Open Second Holiday Inn & Suites in Japan with Sapporo Odori Park Location
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the upcoming opening of Holiday Inn & Suites Sapporo Odori Park, marking the second Holiday Inn & Suites property in Japan. Scheduled for late 2025, the 195-room hotel will be located in the heart of Sapporo’s vibrant Susukino district, near Odori Park and Tanukikoji Shopping Street.
Developed in partnership with World Brands Collection Hotels & Resorts and Goldman Sachs, the extensively renovated hotel will feature IHG’s signature Open Lobby concept, a new gym, lobby café, meeting spaces, a restaurant, and a public bath with city views.
This launch is part of a record year for the Holiday Inn brand family in Japan, joining over 1,200 Holiday Inn hotels globally. The Hokkaido region continues to surge in popularity, with international travel exceeding pre-pandemic levels and a 40% increase in 2024 alone.

The new hotel will cater to both leisure and business travelers, further strengthening IHG’s portfolio of 52 operating hotels and 14 in the pipeline across Japan.
