Opening in early 2026, Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas will bring a new luxury resort experience to Paradise Valley in Scottsdale, Arizona. The property, now accepting reservations from January 5, 2026, emerges from a multi-million-dollar transformation of the former Scottsdale Plaza Resort. Framed by Camelback and Mummy mountains and close to Old Town Scottsdale, the resort aims to blend immersive desert living with contemporary design, wellness and culinary experiences. Its debut will coincide with Scottsdale’s 75th anniversary, further anchoring the opening in the city’s milestone year.

Set across 40 acres between the region’s most recognisable mountain silhouettes, Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas has been extensively redesigned by Saguez & Dash, with a focus on blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. The first phase will open with 260 Canyon Guestrooms and Casitas, while additional Valley Villas and Residences are scheduled to follow in late 2026, expanding the resort’s inventory for extended-stay and high-end guests. The layout is intended to maximise views and circulation across the site, creating a resort environment that feels both spacious and closely connected to the surrounding desert landscape.

Leisure and events will be central to the offering, with six swimming pools, including the Canyon Oasis Pool, set among the resort’s landscaped grounds. More than 50,000 square feet of event space will position the property as a venue for meetings, weddings and large-scale social occasions, anchored by the Horizon Pavilion, which has been designed to showcase panoramic views of the neighbouring mountains. This combination of extensive outdoor areas, flexible function venues and resort-style amenities targets both group business and independent travellers seeking a resort base near Old Town Scottsdale.

Culinary operations at Kimpton Miralina will be led by Chef Wes Avila, recognised for his work in Los Angeles, who will shape the resort’s food and beverage identity. The three-meal restaurant Hecho Libre will serve as the main dining hub, complemented by Cima, a poolside bar concept designed around alfresco drinking and dining. Executive Chef Stephen Jones will oversee daily culinary execution, including in-room dining and catering for on-property events, ensuring coherence between the restaurants, bar and banquet offerings. Together, the dining venues are being positioned as key draws for both in-house guests and local residents.

Wellness will be anchored by Spa Miralina, which will feature five treatment rooms, poolside massage pavilions, a salon, sauna and cold plunge facilities. A dedicated fitness pavilion is also planned, designed to harmonise with the desert setting while offering contemporary equipment and training spaces. This emphasis on integrated wellness seeks to align the resort with travellers looking for restorative stays that combine spa experiences, outdoor relaxation and fitness in a single location. With starting rates from $359 per night, Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas is set to enter the Scottsdale market as a new upper-upscale option shaped around design-driven accommodation, resort-scale amenities and a strong culinary and wellness programme.
