Kimpton to Open First Napa Valley Hotel in 2028
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has announced its debut in Napa Valley, California with the upcoming Kimpton Napa, scheduled to open in 2028. The new-build property will feature 123 guestrooms across two four-story buildings and bring Kimpton’s signature blend of boutique luxury and community-focused hospitality to one of the world’s most iconic wine destinations.
Guests at Kimpton Napa will enjoy hallmark amenities such as the Kimpton Kickstart morning coffee and tea service, Kimpton Social evening refreshments, and the “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” program. True to the brand’s spirit, the hotel will also welcome pets of all breeds and sizes at no extra charge.
The property will include a signature restaurant and bar, a rooftop eatery highlighting regional cuisine, a central courtyard, garden patio, outdoor spa, and dedicated contrast therapy studios. These offerings are designed to reflect the relaxed yet sophisticated Napa Valley lifestyle while providing spaces that encourage both leisure and connection.
The project is being developed by Stratus Development Partners, marking their first IHG property, while adding to their portfolio of six open and pipeline hotels in the Americas. The company emphasized the hotel’s role as a “vibrant social hub” for both visitors and locals, blending luxury hospitality with community spirit.
Kimpton continues to accelerate its growth, with nearly 150 open and pipeline hotels globally. Other recent and upcoming U.S. projects include Kimpton Fredericksburg in Texas, Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove in California, and Kimpton Coco Palms Resort in Hawaii.
