Lemon Tree Hotels Expands into Northeast India with First Signing in Arunachal Pradesh
Lemon Tree Hotels has announced its entry into Arunachal Pradesh with the signing of a new property in Itanagar, marking a strategic milestone in the brand’s national expansion. To be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, the upcoming Lemon Tree Hotel, Itanagar will become the group's first presence in the state and further reinforce its growing footprint in Eastern India.
The hotel will feature 70 well-appointed rooms and a comprehensive suite of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, banquet hall, meeting room, spa, gym, and a swimming pool. Located approximately 25 kilometers from Donyi Polo Airport and 12 kilometers from Naharlagun Railway Station, the property is conveniently accessible by air, rail, and road, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers.
As the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar is a city of cultural and historical significance. Its name originates from the Itafort, a 14th–15th century brick fort built by King Ramachandra of the Jitari Dynasty. Visitors to the city can explore a range of attractions, including the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, which highlights the region’s tribal heritage, and the serene Gekar Sinyi (Ganga Lake), a popular site for picnics and nature walks.
Vilas Pawar, CEO – Managed & Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, stated, “We are excited to expand further in the eastern part of the country. This signing marks a significant milestone in our growth journey, as it will be our first property in Arunachal Pradesh. It will further strengthen our expanding portfolio.”
The move aligns with Lemon Tree Hotels’ strategy of penetrating underserved markets across India, offering high-quality midscale accommodation with locally tailored experiences. The Itanagar signing is a part of the company’s broader vision to ensure nationwide presence, especially in emerging travel and tourism destinations in the Northeast.
