Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has expanded its footprint in Maharashtra with the signing of a new hotel in Akola, strengthening its presence in one of India’s most economically active states. The property will operate under the Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels brand and adds further scale to the group’s growing regional network. With this addition, the company now has 28 hotels in Maharashtra, including 15 operational properties and 13 in the pipeline. The project reflects Lemon Tree’s continued focus on emerging commercial centres beyond the state’s biggest metro markets.

The upcoming hotel will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited. It is being positioned to serve a mix of corporate travellers, trade visitors, and regional transit demand in a city that continues to gain relevance within central India’s business landscape. For the brand, the signing fits a broader strategy of aligning portfolio growth with expanding regional business activity and infrastructure-led development.

Located in the Vidarbha region, Akola is known as a major commercial and agricultural centre, with a particularly strong identity in cotton production and trading. That economic base, combined with steady development and improving connectivity, has helped position the city as an increasingly important node in the wider regional economy. For organised hospitality players, this makes Akola a logical growth market as demand spreads beyond primary urban hubs.

Under the Keys Prima brand, the hotel will offer 55 well-appointed rooms along with a restaurant, banquet hall, and conference room. Recreational facilities will include a fitness centre, swimming pool, and spa, giving the property a full-service profile aimed at both business and event-led stays. In terms of access, the hotel is located approximately 265 km from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and about 4.4 km from Akola Junction railway station, supporting ease of movement for incoming guests.
