Radisson adds peaceful Phuket coastal resort
Radisson Hotel Group has opened Radisson Resort Layan Phuket on the peaceful northwest coast of Phuket, strengthening its resort portfolio in Thailand and across Southeast Asia Pacific. Set between Layan Beach and the protected landscapes of Sirinat National Park, the 300-room resort is designed as a contemporary tropical retreat for families, couples, groups and longer-stay travellers. The property combines modern island design, Thai hospitality, wellness, dining and meeting facilities in one of Phuket’s quieter coastal settings. Its opening adds another upscale resort address to one of Asia’s most recognised leisure destinations.
Radisson Resort Layan Phuket is located in the exclusive Layan Beach area, giving guests a balance between seclusion and access to the island’s wider lifestyle offer. The resort is close to Laguna Phuket, Boat Avenue, Porto de Phuket, championship golf courses and stylish beach clubs, all within around 15 minutes by car. Phuket International Airport is approximately 30 minutes away, making the property accessible for both domestic and international travellers.
The location is central to the resort’s appeal. Guests can relax on the unspoilt sands of Layan Beach, explore the coastal environment of Sirinat National Park, or use the hotel as a base for discovering Phuket’s quieter and more natural side. This gives the property a softer, more relaxed positioning than some of the island’s busier resort areas.
The resort’s design is inspired by contemporary tropical living. Open spaces, lush landscaping and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor areas create a relaxed island atmosphere. Warm earth tones, natural light and modern interiors are used to reflect Phuket’s laid-back coastal lifestyle while maintaining the comfort expected from an international upscale resort.
Accommodation includes 300 guestrooms and suites across several categories. The room mix includes spacious family suites and two-bedroom suites suited to longer stays. Private balconies, premium bedding, smart televisions, high-speed Wi-Fi and generous living areas give the property flexibility across different guest profiles, from couples and families to small groups and extended-stay travellers.
Dining is spread across three venues. The Taste Restaurant focuses on authentic Southeast Asian cuisine, bringing together aromatic herbs, bold spices and comforting regional dishes in an all-day dining format. The restaurant gives guests a clear connection to local and regional flavours while remaining accessible for everyday resort dining.
Mangrove Bar & Restaurant offers freshly caught seafood, grilled specialities and handcrafted cocktails in a tropical setting. Its atmosphere is designed to move naturally from daytime relaxation to sunset dining. For lighter refreshments, Aroonsawat Café serves premium coffee and tea, proudly serves Starbucks beverages, and offers pastries, sandwiches and grab-and-go options.
Wellness and leisure are important parts of the resort experience. Malai Spa is inspired by traditional Thai wellness and offers signature massages and aromatherapy treatments. Guests also have access to a 24-hour fitness centre with yoga facilities, cardio equipment and strength-training equipment, supporting both active routines and restorative stays.
The resort includes three outdoor swimming pools surrounded by tropical gardens. These pools create separate spaces for families, leisure travellers and guests looking to relax in the Phuket sunshine. Together with the beach location and spa, they help position the property as a complete tropical resort rather than simply a beachside hotel.
Meetings and events are also part of the hotel’s offer. Radisson Resort Layan Phuket includes four contemporary meeting rooms named Karon, Kata, Patong and Layan, along with a ballroom of approximately 324 square metres. Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, LED screens and modern audiovisual technology, the venues can host executive meetings, workshops, banquets, incentive groups and private celebrations.
The resort also provides access to a wider destination experience. Guests can explore Old Phuket Town, visit the historic Wat Phra Thong temple, discover local life in Bang Rong Community, or visit hidden coastal spots such as Banana Beach and Leam Son Beach. Local markets, waterfront cafés and traditional Thai cuisine add further depth to the stay.
For Radisson Hotel Group, the opening reinforces Thailand’s strategic importance and strengthens its presence in one of the region’s most established leisure markets. Phuket continues to attract travellers seeking beaches, culture, nature, dining and family-friendly resort experiences. With Radisson Resort Layan Phuket, the group adds a contemporary, family-friendly and wellness-oriented property to the island’s northwest coast.
With 300 guestrooms and suites, three dining venues, Malai Spa, three outdoor pools, meeting facilities and access to both Layan Beach and Sirinat National Park, Radisson Resort Layan Phuket brings a new upscale tropical retreat to the island. The opening expands Radisson Hotel Group’s Thai resort portfolio while giving guests a quieter base for discovering Phuket’s natural beauty, local culture and coastal lifestyle.
