Radisson builds momentum through owner confidence
Radisson Hotel Group is accelerating its global development strategy in 2026, supported by strong owner confidence and rising demand for branded hospitality. During the first half of the year, the group strengthened its position across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific through new signings, openings, market entries and brand extensions. Growth is being driven by a broad portfolio spanning luxury, lifestyle, upscale, resort, conversion and mixed-use opportunities. The update reinforces Radisson Hotel Group’s ambition to expand through diversified brands and long-term partnerships with hotel owners.
Across EMEA, Radisson Hotel Group recorded several important milestones. In Europe, the group signed Radisson Collection Hotel, Frankfurt and Radisson RED Vienna Danube Riverside, while also opening new hotels across Austria, Germany and Poland. These additions reflect the group’s continued ability to grow in established urban markets with strong business, leisure and event demand.
The company also broadened its resort footprint during the period. New openings in Tenerife and Phuket strengthened Radisson Hotel Group’s position in leisure-led destinations, while Radisson Individuals expanded in Greece and Spain. This activity highlights the importance of flexible brand platforms that can support both independent hotels and destination properties looking for international visibility.
Lifestyle and luxury brands also played a central role in the group’s growth. Radisson RED entered new markets including New Zealand, the Philippines and Türkiye, expanding the reach of the brand’s energetic lifestyle positioning. At the same time, Radisson Collection strengthened its presence in key gateway destinations, including Lake Como, reinforcing the group’s luxury proposition in high-profile European locations.
Sustainability remains part of the group’s development narrative. Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its Verified Net Zero programme, with an additional 10 hotels expected to join the initiative across Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom and South Africa. The first Verified Net Zero hotel in South Africa adds a new geographic dimension to the programme and supports the group’s wider responsible business strategy.
The first half of 2026 also brought culinary recognition within the portfolio. Les Loges, the gastronomic restaurant at Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel, received its first Michelin star just 10 months after reopening. This achievement adds further prestige to the group’s luxury and lifestyle positioning, showing how food and beverage can strengthen the identity of restored landmark properties.
In the Middle East and Africa, the group continued to build scale in strategic markets. Openings including Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Barsha Heights, Radisson Collection Residences, Riyadh and Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport reinforced the company’s presence across major business, residential and transport-driven locations. In Africa, the group passed a significant milestone, with more than 100 hotels now in operation and under development across the continent.
The performance of the Radisson brand itself remains central to the company’s owner appeal. In EMEA and Southeast Asia Pacific, Radisson has been the most-signed hotel brand within its segment since 2019. This underlines the brand’s continued relevance for both owners and guests, particularly in markets where investors are seeking dependable upscale positioning, global recognition and operational support.
Asia Pacific remains one of Radisson Hotel Group’s most important growth regions. The company points to favourable demographics, increasing travel demand and rising investor confidence in branded hospitality as key drivers. These fundamentals are supporting growth across both mature and emerging markets, where internationally recognised brands can meet demand from domestic, regional and international travellers.
China continues to play an important role in the group’s long-term development strategy. Radisson Hotel Group now has more than 260 hotels in operation in the country across Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson and Radisson RED. The company also maintains a substantial development pipeline across its midscale and lifestyle portfolio, reflecting the strength of China’s domestic travel market.
Development activity in China remains active across major urban centres including Wuhan, Beijing and Chongqing, as well as emerging Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities. This broader market coverage gives Radisson Hotel Group access to a wide range of demand sources, from large metropolitan travel to fast-growing regional destinations.
Across Southeast Asia Pacific, LIME Resort Bohol, a member of Radisson Individuals Premier, marked the regional debut of the brand. In Australasia, Radisson RED Auckland became both the group’s first hotel in New Zealand and the first Radisson RED property in the region. These openings show how the group is using lifestyle and soft-brand concepts to enter new markets with distinctive positioning.
India remains one of the most important growth markets for Radisson Hotel Group. During the first half of 2026, the company signed and opened 22 hotels in the country, bringing its development pipeline in India to nearly 100 hotels. The group currently operates 142 hotels with more than 15,500 keys across 86 Indian cities, making it one of the country’s leading international hotel operators.
The group has also introduced its India Vision 2030 plan, which aims to grow the portfolio to 500 hotels over the next five years. This ambition reflects the scale of opportunity in the market, where demand is expanding, infrastructure is improving and owner confidence remains strong. For Radisson Hotel Group, India combines brand legacy, market familiarity and long-term development potential.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, is connected with the group’s focus on creating value for guests and owners through brands, people and long-term hospitality partnerships. The first-half update shows a company building growth across multiple regions, segments and ownership models. With momentum in EMEA, Asia Pacific, China, India and Africa, Radisson Hotel Group is using owner confidence as a foundation for continued global expansion.
