Radisson builds strategic growth across Southeast Asia Pacific
Radisson Hotel Group is highlighting continued strategic growth across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, with a regional portfolio now covering 89 hotels and more than 17,000 rooms in operation and under development. The group’s expansion spans Vietnam, the Philippines, Australasia, Thailand and Indonesia, combining gateway cities, resort destinations, island markets and mixed-use developments. Its strategy is based on matching the right brand and operating model to each market, owner and destination. The update reflects a more diversified regional platform designed for business, leisure, meetings, lifestyle and long-stay demand.
Across the region, Radisson Hotel Group is pursuing selective development rather than one-size-fits-all expansion. The group is using different brands from its portfolio to respond to local market conditions, owner objectives and changing guest expectations. This includes upscale city hotels, lifestyle properties, beachfront resorts, affiliation models and serviced-apartment concepts.
Vietnam remains one of the group’s most important growth markets. Radisson Hotel Group currently has 14 hotels and more than 3,100 rooms in operation and under development in the country. This reflects strong demand across leisure, business and experience-led travel, as Vietnam continues to grow as one of Asia’s most dynamic tourism and investment destinations.
A major recent milestone in Vietnam is the opening of the 352-key Radisson Blu Hotel, Ha Long Bay. The hotel brings the Radisson Blu brand to one of the country’s most internationally recognised destinations, known for limestone karsts and emerald waters. Its opening strengthens the group’s leisure and resort position in northern Vietnam.
The group has also signed Radisson Hotel Westlake Hanoi, a 182-key property scheduled to open in 2028. Located in Vietnam’s capital, the hotel will support Radisson’s urban growth strategy with scenic lake views, approximately 800 square metres of event space and a rooftop bar overlooking West Lake. These developments complement existing properties in destinations including Cam Ranh, Danang, Phu Quoc and Hoi An.
The Philippines is another major focus area. Radisson Hotel Group has eight hotels with 1,559 keys in operation and 17 hotels with 3,762 keys under development in the country. By 2030, the group expects to introduce seven of its ten brands to the Philippine market, showing the breadth of its long-term ambition.
A key driver of growth in the Philippines has been the group’s relationship with SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. This partnership has supported the expansion of Park Inn by Radisson and forms part of a shared ambition to reach 20 hotels by 2028. The relationship gives Radisson Hotel Group a strong owner platform in a market where branded hotel demand continues to rise.
Recent Philippine openings have also introduced new brand expressions. LIME Resort Bohol, a member of Radisson Individuals Premier, marks the first Radisson Individuals Premier property in Asia Pacific. Radisson RED Cebu Mandaue brings the group’s lifestyle brand to the Philippines with 144 keys, art-inspired interiors, social spaces, creative dining, meeting facilities, an outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness centre.
The Philippine pipeline includes several significant projects. These include a 500-key dual-branded Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson hotel at SM Mall of Asia, Radisson RED Mactan Cebu Resort, Fridays Boracay, A Radisson Collection Resort, Radisson Crown Regency Grand Paradise Resort Bohol, and Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences Cagayan de Oro. Together, these projects show the group’s ability to grow across urban, resort, lifestyle, luxury, convention and branded residential segments.
In Australasia, Radisson Hotel Group is broadening its footprint across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Samoa. The group is using a mix of openings, signings and repositioning projects to enter new destinations and strengthen established markets. This part of the expansion is especially focused on lifestyle hotels, island resorts and affiliation opportunities.
In Australia, The Merchant Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, will mark the brand’s debut in Brisbane with 58 rooms. In Melbourne, the 74-key Canterbury International Hotel Melbourne, a member of Radisson Individuals, will bring the affiliation brand to Victoria’s capital. These additions complement the group’s existing presence through Park Inn by Radisson Melbourne Carlton.
New Zealand is emerging as an important lifestyle growth market. The recently opened 322-key Radisson RED Auckland introduces the brand to the country with a design-led hotel in the city’s Arts District, creative social spaces and a rooftop lounge. It will be followed by Radisson RED Hotel Queenstown, a 221-key new-build lifestyle hotel scheduled to open in late 2028, with a rooftop bar overlooking the surrounding mountains and Lake Wakatipu.
In Fiji, the existing Radisson Blu Resort, Fiji Denarau Island will be complemented by two new resort projects. Radisson Blu Mirage Resort, Fiji Naisoso Island is scheduled to open in 2027, while Mana Island Resort & Spa Fiji, a member of Radisson Individuals, will undergo a full refurbishment and repositioning before joining the brand in late 2027. These projects strengthen the group’s presence in one of the Pacific’s most established leisure markets.
The group is also entering Samoa through the signing of Return to Paradise Resort, a member of Radisson Individuals. Located on Paradise Beach in Lefaga, the 117-key resort will be refurbished to align with Radisson Hotel Group’s international standards while preserving its authentic Samoan identity. This reflects the group’s wider approach to using affiliation brands for distinctive independent properties.
In Thailand, Radisson Blu Resort, Phuket Mai Khao and Radisson Resort, Layan Phuket are now open, strengthening the group’s resort presence in one of Southeast Asia’s most visited island destinations. The 118-key Radisson Serviced Apartments Rawai Phuket is scheduled to open in 2029, responding to demand for extended-stay accommodation in Phuket. This gives the group a broader mix of resort and long-stay products in the Thai market.
In Indonesia, Radisson Hotel Group has signed ANTA Hotel Bali Canggu, a member of Radisson Individuals. Expected to introduce 116 serviced apartments to Canggu from 2027, the project places the group in one of Bali’s most active lifestyle and long-stay districts. The signing supports the group’s strategy of entering high-demand leisure markets with flexible brand models.
The regional update shows how Radisson Hotel Group is building growth through both scale and variety. Its expansion is not limited to one segment, but includes branded resorts, lifestyle hotels, serviced apartments, mixed-use projects, branded residences and independent affiliation opportunities. This gives the group a broader platform for owners and guests across fast-evolving markets.
Radisson Hotel Group operates across EMEA and APAC with more than 1,575 hotels in operation and under development in over 100 countries. Its brand portfolio includes Radisson Collection, art’otel, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Radisson Individuals, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson and Prize by Radisson. Across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, the group’s 89-hotel regional platform reflects a strategy built around market relevance, owner partnerships, destination fit and long-term commercial performance.
