Radisson Collection Makes Grand Entrance into France with Cour des Loges Lyon
Radisson Hotel Group has officially introduced its luxury-lifestyle Radisson Collection brand to France with the opening of Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel. Nestled in the heart of Vieux Lyon, the UNESCO-listed Renaissance district, the hotel offers an elegant fusion of rich history and contemporary luxury. With a masterful restoration led by heritage architects and a culinary program rooted in Lyon’s gastronomic heritage, the opening marks a strategic and culturally significant move for the group in the European market.
In a move that underscores Radisson Hotel Group’s ambitions in the luxury hospitality segment, the company has launched its first Radisson Collection property in France — Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel. Located in Lyon’s atmospheric Old Town, the hotel is steeped in nearly seven centuries of history and architectural heritage. Originally dating back to the 14th century, the property has served various roles, from a Jesuit college to a private residence, before being reborn as a boutique hotel in the late 1980s. Acquired by Radisson Hotel Group in 2022, it has now been transformed to reflect the hallmarks of the Radisson Collection brand: local authenticity, elevated luxury, and curated lifestyle experiences.
The comprehensive restoration was overseen by Cécile Rémond, Architecte du Patrimoine, known for her expertise in preserving historic French landmarks. The design retains original elements like Renaissance courtyards and a soaring 17-meter glass roof, while integrating modern touches through noble materials and rediscovered antiques. The result is a seamless blend of Lyon's storied past with present-day sophistication.
The hotel features 61 individually designed rooms and suites, each evoking the Renaissance spirit through textures, antique furnishings, and architectural details. From Collection Superior Rooms to expansive Collection Suites, the accommodations offer a tailored luxury experience designed to appeal to cultural travelers and luxury seekers alike.
A major highlight is the hotel’s gastronomic offering. Les Loges, led by long-standing Executive Chef Anthony Bonnet, offers fine dining under a Renaissance-era glass canopy. With a menu shaped by local produce and the chef’s own garden, the restaurant delivers on both tradition and innovation. The hotel also features Le Comptoir, a more casual bistro offering modern interpretations of Lyonnaise cuisine. Coming soon, the revitalized La Petite Loge will provide a dedicated space for private tastings and culinary masterclasses.
Beyond its rooms and restaurants, Cour des Loges is set to become a premier venue for events in Lyon. With five versatile meeting rooms, historical salons, and dramatic courtyards, the property provides a rich and atmospheric setting for gatherings ranging from business meetings to elegant weddings. A new Pure Altitude Spa, soon to open beneath ancient stone vaults, will further enhance the guest experience with wellness offerings including a pool, hammam, and sauna.
As Tom Flanagan, Managing Director Northern & Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, highlighted, the opening of Cour des Loges Lyon, A Radisson Collection Hotel is more than a brand expansion — it's a statement of commitment to delivering immersive, high-end hospitality experiences across Europe.
