Radisson Individuals adds countryside hotel in Sorø
Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its Radisson Individuals portfolio in Denmark with Soro Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, a 94-room countryside property on the island of Zealand. Located close to the historic town of Sorø and less than an hour from Copenhagen, the hotel combines contemporary Nordic design with a strong connection to the surrounding natural landscape. One of its most distinctive architectural features is Denmark's largest thatched roof, giving the property an identity that differs markedly from a conventional city hotel. The hotel targets leisure travellers, corporate guests, groups and events seeking a quieter alternative within easy reach of the Danish capital.
Soro Hotel offers 94 guestrooms and suites, designed around a simple and contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic. Accommodation ranges from 18-square-metre Single Rooms and 20-square-metre Standard Rooms to 40-square-metre Garden View Suites capable of accommodating up to four guests.
Family Rooms are also available, supporting the property's appeal for weekend breaks and leisure stays in the Zealand countryside.
The surrounding natural environment plays an important role in the hotel experience. Guests are within a short distance of Sorø Lake, while the hotel itself overlooks gardens and a vineyard.
Lakeside walks can be reached in approximately five minutes, creating opportunities for guests to combine a hotel stay with outdoor recreation and exploration of the surrounding countryside.
Food and beverage facilities centre on the hotel's restaurant, which overlooks the gardens and vineyard. An evening buffet includes two hot dishes, a salad selection, bread, coffee and cake, while breakfast is also served buffet-style.
Both breakfast and the evening buffet are included in room rates, giving the hotel a slightly different proposition from many conventional upscale properties.
The hotel also provides fitness facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi and free on-site parking. Electric vehicle charging is available, supporting guests travelling through Zealand by car.
Meetings and events are an important part of the property's offering. Soro Hotel provides flexible conference facilities suitable for board meetings, training sessions, larger conferences and private celebrations.
The largest configurations can accommodate up to 220 guests, with meeting spaces equipped with audiovisual technology and complimentary Wi-Fi. Many rooms also benefit from natural daylight and views across the surrounding landscape.
Breakout areas, dedicated event support and complimentary parking further strengthen the hotel's positioning for corporate gatherings and group business.
The property's location provides relatively easy access to both Copenhagen and several cultural attractions across Zealand. Copenhagen Airport is approximately 50 minutes to one hour away by car, while the journey by train takes around 70 minutes.
Nearby attractions include Sorø Abbey Church, one of Denmark's major medieval brick churches, as well as Sorø Academy, whose history stretches back to the 12th century.
Guests can also visit Sorø Art Museum, Sorø Golf Club and Sorø Lake, while attractions further afield include Gavnø Castle, the Forest Tower at Camp Adventure and the family-oriented BonBon-Land amusement park.
The property is also positioned close to the E20 motorway, providing convenient connections between Copenhagen and western Denmark.
With its 94 rooms, substantial meeting capacity and distinctive countryside setting, Soro Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals broadens Radisson Hotel Group's Danish offering beyond traditional urban hospitality.
Its combination of Nordic design, nature, meetings facilities and an accessible Zealand location positions the hotel for both short leisure escapes and corporate events outside Copenhagen.
