Radisson Hotel Group has opened Radisson Red Innsbruck, marking the group’s first property in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The 161-room hotel is part of Das Raiqa, a new mixed-use quarter developed by Raiffeisen-Landesbank between Innsbruck’s main train station and the Old Town. The development brings together hotel, gastronomy, retail, art and event spaces in a shared urban environment. With regional timber construction, rooftop dining and strong meetings facilities, the hotel is positioned as a social and professional hub in the heart of Innsbruck.

Radisson Red Innsbruck introduces the Radisson Red brand to a city shaped by international travel, business demand and direct access to the outdoors. Its location at the intersection of the main train station and the Old Town gives the property a highly visible urban position, while its integration into Das Raiqa connects it with a broader mixed-use destination. Around 10,000 people pass through the quarter each day, giving the hotel an active setting from the moment it opens.

The hotel has been built with 1,600 cubic metres of regionally sourced timber, making wood a central part of both its structure and guest experience. In the rooms, untreated timber is used as a defining design feature, with each guest room including at least two walls of untreated wood. This gives the property a strong regional character while connecting the hotel’s design with the natural materials and landscape identity of Tyrol.

All 161 guest rooms are located on the upper floors of the building. Room categories range from 23-square-metre standard rooms to 44-square-metre suites, allowing the hotel to serve different guest needs across leisure, business and meetings demand. The elevated room position also supports the hotel’s urban outlook over the surrounding quarter and city.

One of the architectural centrepieces of the property is the 440-square-metre atrium, which rises 35 metres under a glass canopy. This atrium is shared by the hotel and bank, creating a public interior space that reflects the mixed-use nature of Das Raiqa. Rather than operating as an isolated hotel, Radisson Red Innsbruck forms part of a larger environment where guests, office users, visitors and local residents move between different functions.

Food and beverage is anchored by LOFT9, the rooftop restaurant and bar on the ninth floor. The venue serves modern Tyrolean cuisine, adding a local culinary dimension to the hotel’s offer. Its rooftop setting also strengthens the lifestyle positioning of the property and gives guests and locals a new social space above the city.

Wellness and fitness are also part of the offer. The hotel includes a 90-square-metre gym and an outdoor training area, supporting guests who want to stay active during business or leisure trips. This aligns with Innsbruck’s strong connection to outdoor activity and the hotel’s positioning between city life and access to nature.

Meetings and events form a major part of the property’s commercial role. Saal Friedrich, located on the upper floors, offers 320 square metres of space for up to 220 guests and connects to a 128-square-metre outdoor terrace. The development also includes Victor, an 89-square-metre flexible meeting space, as well as six additional boardrooms.

Yilmaz Yildirimlar, chief operating officer of managed hotels Europe at Radisson, and Matthias Guttengeber, general manager of Radisson Red Innsbruck, are named in the announcement in connection with the hotel’s positioning. Their comments frame the property as a hotel designed for the way people now move between work, leisure, meetings and outdoor experiences. With Radisson Red Innsbruck, Radisson Hotel Group adds a design-led, mixed-use and meetings-focused hotel to one of Austria’s most distinctive alpine cities.
