Radisson Strengthens Hospitality Leadership in Africa with Record-Breaking Growth
Radisson Hotel Group continues to assert its leadership in the African hospitality sector, topping W Hospitality Group’s 2024 “From Pipeline to Reality” report for the most hotel openings across the continent. With 11 hotel signings and 7 openings over the past 15 months—adding over 2,000 signed and 1,500 opened rooms—the Group reinforces its standing as a dominant force in Africa, boasting a diverse portfolio of 100 hotels across 30+ countries.
Recent highlights include the Group’s market entry into the Democratic Republic of Congo with two key properties: Radisson Blu Hotel, Kinshasa and Radisson Hotel Lubumbashi. These developments bolster Radisson’s presence in Central Africa alongside the signing of Radisson Blu Hotel & Apartments, Yaoundé in Cameroon. Additional milestones include the rapid opening of Radisson Blu Hotel, Conakry in Guinea and the addition of Crystals Beach Resort Belle Mare, Mauritius, under the Radisson Individuals brand.
Radisson's strategy remains firmly anchored in market expansion through high-impact conversions, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to delivering world-class guest experiences. Plans are also advancing to reach 30 hotels in Morocco, 25 hotels in South Africa, and to further grow its Nigerian and West African portfolios by 2030.
As Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Development Officer, noted, Radisson’s sustained momentum is a testament to the quality of its partners and the strength of its execution across diverse and rapidly evolving markets.
