Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino, has officially reopened for the 2025 season, unveiling the results of a meticulous, multi-year renovation led by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. The grand reopening was marked by an exclusive three-day celebration in early June, drawing an elite guest list from the worlds of film, fashion, design, and sports to the famed Italian Riviera icon.
Held from June 5–7, the event showcased the new look of Splendido while setting the tone for a season of glamour and cultural sophistication. Among the high-profile attendees were Jeff Goldblum, Kelly Rutherford, Baz Luhrmann, Tina Tunakey, Catherine Martin, Ana Ivanović, and Luke Edward Hall. Guests enjoyed a curated blend of elegance, music, and haute cuisine, starting with an al fresco aperitivo and dinner at DaV Mare in Portofino’s picturesque Piazzetta.
On June 6, the highlight of the evening was a performance by Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, joined by guest vocalist Emma Smith, followed by dinner at La Terrazza, led by Chef Corrado Corti, and a vibrant DJ set by Disco Bambino. Guests also had the first look at Baratta Sedici, Splendido’s newly introduced cocktail bar.
The reopened Splendido now features refreshed rooms and suites with timeless Italian flair, a cinematic pool overlooking Portofino Bay, and the country’s first permanent Dior Spa, blending holistic beauty rituals with Riviera glamour. The renovation emphasizes heritage and elegance while introducing contemporary touches that reflect the refined taste and storied history of this legendary retreat.
In addition to the hotel’s physical transformation, the event also previewed Villa Beatrice, Belmond’s new private summer residence, set to open in July 2025. This exclusive villa offers elevated privacy and service, expanding Belmond’s ultra-luxury footprint along the Ligurian coast.
Splendido’s reopening reaffirms its status as a destination not just for discerning travelers but also for cultural connoisseurs. A full slate of experiences—ranging from tennis lessons and speedboat adventures to eco-farm visits and Riviera sunbathing—will be available throughout the season, all underscoring Belmond’s commitment to immersive and luxurious travel.
