Hotel visionary Barry Sternlicht, the original founder of W Hotels and Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group, a global investment firm, has once again reimagined the hotel concept.

Sternlicht has already received much praise for his nature-inspired hotel brands 1 Hotel and Baccarat, both of which were featured in the Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards 2018. 1 Hotel South Beach, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, 1 Hotel Central Park, and Baccarat New York have been ranked in the top ten hotels in Miami and New York, respectively, in a short period since their debut.

Sternlicht announced his latest venture, Treehouse Hotels, which he describes as the "younger sibling of 1." Treehouse is less serious, like ripped jeans and t-shirts, and infinitely approachable. Sunny, homey, witty, and fun.

A subsidiary of Starwood Capital Group will manage the hotels under the new brand on behalf of Starwood Capital Group.

Treehouse Hotels are associated with freedom. The wonderful feeling we all had as kids climbing up to a treehouse and making our own "club" rules. It’s about friendship, community, and shared secrets. Inspiring, boho, and nostalgic, you’ll find surprisingly intimate spaces, simple toys, books, nooks, games ... and a touch of magic.

Like all hotels in Sternlicht's portfolio, Treehouse will follow sustainable protocols. "It’s about getting back to yourself and remembering all the simple things that made us smile, giggle, and embrace."

Treehouse London will be the brand’s first property, opening at the end of 2019, with more locations to follow in the United States and beyond. "It’s truly exciting to unveil our first property in one of the world’s great tourist markets, London. I believe this treehouse, with its truly sensational rooftop lounge and bar, will fill a void in the London market where a hotel that revels in all of this and doesn’t take itself too seriously has been missing," said Sternlicht. Treehouse London will be located across from the BBC headquarters and offer 95 rooms, including 15 suites, a penthouse, and a fantastic rooftop bar with views of the city skyline. The restaurant and bar will be operated by The Madera Group, an international hospitality group based in the USA that owns and operates properties in Southern California and Arizona, including Tocaya Organica and Toca Madera.

"Partnering with industry pioneer Barry Sternlicht is an honor for us and aligns perfectly with our focus on innovation and our commitment to elevating our guests’ experience to new heights. Our breakthrough location on Regent Street will provide the perfect stage to lead this new kind of hotel. We eagerly look forward to globally debuting the first Treehouse Hotel with our new partners Starwood Capital Group and SH Hotels & Resorts," said Aneil Handa, Director at Cairn Group.

Treehouse London will be open to all guests, from business and weekend travelers to locals seeking refuge from the bustling streets of London. Located at 14-15 Langham Place, Marylebone, London W1B 2QS, UK, Treehouse London is set to open at the end of 2019.
