Belmond has officially unveiled Villa Beatrice, a newly restored historical villa perched above the Ligurian coast in Portofino, opening a new chapter for this early 20th-century gem. Originally built in 1913 by celebrated Tuscan architect Gino Coppedè, the clifftop residence has been meticulously reimagined by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and now represents Belmond’s first private villa of its kind, offering an ultra-exclusive experience from 29 June to 2 November 2025.

Just a short stroll from Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Villa Beatrice is a showcase of Italian architectural heritage, refined craftsmanship, and natural beauty, combining Art Nouveau, Gothic Revival, and Neo-Renaissance styles. The villa features five suites spread across three levels, a panoramic terrace, rooftop turret, private plunge pool, and direct sea access, while an additional guesthouse, La Casetta, offers further seclusion within its lush gardens.

Originally conceived by Ligurian entrepreneur Attilio Odero as a summer retreat for family and friends, the villa has long been a landmark in Portofino. Today, under Belmond's stewardship, it offers guests 24-hour bespoke services including a private butler, chef, yoga instructor, and personal trainer. Interiors have been sensitively restored to celebrate the villa’s original features, such as its frescoes, Graniglia alla Genovese flooring, and intricate stucco work. New design layers incorporate custom textiles from local mills, ceramics from Albisola, and elements like Vienna straw bedside tables that nod to regional artisanal heritage.

The villa’s elevated setting provides panoramic 360-degree views from its torretta, stretching from Paraggi and Cinque Terre to Portofino, immersing guests in the beauty of the Gulf of Tigullio. The estate also connects visitors with nature through cascading gardens and quiet terraces shaped by the rhythms of light, sea, and season.

Villa Beatrice’s tailored experience program includes in-villa cooking classes, gelato tastings, art workshops, and sunset cruises, alongside curated extras like marine biologist-led sailings or private astronomy nights. The villa’s reawakening marks a significant moment for Belmond as it enhances its Ligurian presence, complementing Splendido Mare in the harbor and the legendary Splendido on the hillside.

By combining history, privacy, and curated elegance, Villa Beatrice sets a new benchmark in luxury villa hospitality—an invitation to embrace the soul of Portofino through the lens of one of Italy’s most iconic residences.
